Horizon Europe - Cluster 2 Culture, creativity and inclusive society

Horizon Europe Cluster 2 calls for the multidisciplinary expertise of the social sciences and humanities. Projects in the cluster contribute to solving important social, political, economic and cultural challenges of European citizens.

Cluster 2 "Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Societies" falls under the second pillar of Horizon Europe and aims to achieve EU objectives and priorities on strengthening democratic governance and civic participation, protecting and promoting cultural heritage and responding to and shaping multifaceted social, economic, technological and cultural transformations.

Future projects should address the three areas of intervention of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan (2021-2024):

• Democracy and governance
• Cultural heritage
• Social and economic transformations
  All topics in this cluster are expected to integrate social sciences and humanities and have a gender dimension.

European funding program Horizon Europe Pillar II.
In Pillar II of the Horizon Europe program, six global challenges have been defined in six Clusters through which the European Commission asks experts from different disciplines and sectors for their ideas and solutions to these issues. International consortia (temporary collaborations) of three+ organizations can submit their project proposals to help solve these global challenges.

The 2021-2022 Cluster 2 program has multiple calls. These calls have 3 purposes:

1. Innovative research on democracy and governance;
2. Innovative research on the European cultural heritage and cultural and creative industries;
3. Innovative research on social and economic transformations.
